John Paul School began the 2012 school year with their highest attendance count yet! Classrooms were filled on the opening day with 206 eager students of which 144 are girls. The disproportionate number of girls is attributed to the availability of a dormitory which is filled to capacity this year with 94 Boarding Students.
Returning with the students was the same group of 14 committed teachers that had shepherd the students through their studies the previous year. It is strong evidence of the bond which has developed between the two groups and a sign of the dedication of the teachers to educate the children of Chelekura.
There was a real sense of excitement among the teachers and the students when they returned this year and a very noticeable change to the campus. The new Science and Learning Center, a large L shaped building, is taking shape right next to the school. The walls are up, the roof is on and a completion date of August , 2012, means there will be classes in this new building for the Fall term!
Undoubtedly 2012 will be another interesting year of great growth for the students, teachers and the people of Chelekura! We were so excited and so blessed!
Thanks to everyone who has helped to make these dreams a reality!
God Bless You!
