Empowering the Future: Meet Our 2026 Hungerford Scholars!
Earlier this year in February, as the new academic term kicked off, we had the privilege of selecting the latest class of Hungerford Scholarship Program recipients! Thanks to your continued generosity, these bright, determined Senior One students from resilient families across Pallisa, Mbale, and Bulambuli districts were able to begin their secondary education journey with full support.
Selected at the start of the year based on academic potential and financial need, these scholars come from humble backgrounds, many belonging to large peasant farming families or single-parent households, yet all share a strong dedication to learning and building a brighter future.
Meet a Few of Our Scholars:
Oliabong Charles (Pallisa) – Chosen at the start of the year from a family of ten, Charles’s strong drive for education earned him a spot in the program.
Khaiza Gloria (Mbale) – Awarded the scholarship in February in recognition of her excellent grades and passion for learning.
Omadodo Bruno (Pallisa) – Selected in February to help ease his family’s burden as they navigate his father’s long-term illness
Buhule Christer (Bulambuli) – The youngest of eight siblings, Christer began her Senior One year as the first in her family to receive full scholarship assistance.
Apolot Letisha W. (Pallisa) & Wokuri Trisha Esther (Bulambuli) – Two determined young women whose single-mother households received crucial support at the start of the school year.
Joined by Wamutibi Pisca, Okanya James, Ameede Hellen, and Agolor David, these students have been hard at work since February making the most of this opportunity.
