2024 Construction and Groundbreaking

Year 2023 saw the culmination of two essential and large projects, the Multipurpose building supported with a, large modern kitchen, and our big water project. Giddy from the success of these two projects we have even more ambitious plans for 2024 which are well underway.

With the school now approaching 700 students with a staff of 50 we need more of everything – beds, classrooms, books, land and the list goes on. Our plan addresses each of these issues. The first priority is increasing the size of the campus, and we have come up with a creative means to acquire a large parcel. Currently there is a primary school with an enrollment of 1,500 students occupying a prime part of the land dedicated to JPSS. We’ve reached an agreement with the local government to relocate this school. We’ve purchased a large parcel of land across the street from JPSS. Here we will build a new school with some much-needed enhancements, including providing water on site and available to any member of the community.

This is our first priority and as soon as the primary students and staff move to this new facility, we will rehab the existing structure which will add 9 classrooms for JPSS.

JPSS is primarily a Boarding school and its explosive growth has created a desperate need for more beds. Therefore, our next project will start to address the overcrowding of our dormitories with the addition of two 100 bed dorms, 100 beds for the boys and 100 beds for the girls. These will specifically service the older S5 and S6 students, segregating the younger S1 – S4 students from the older more mature students.

Water access project completed in 2023 – water is now readily available at multiple points on campus and an off-campus location for our local neighbors.

Lastly, we are creating a Sports Center on campus which will include a netball court for the girls and a volleyball court for the boys. The highlight though is a FIFA approved soccer field.

We are excited to announce that the groundbreaking for the new location of the primary school, and the designated locations for the new boys’ and new girls’ dorms was just completed, and our construction engineer Vincent Mutyaba and his team can now get underway with these important projects!
